Intro
Guest posting is one of the most common link building strategies that can help you get multiple high-quality backlinks from a single guest post.
The process is very simple: you find blogs that accept guest posts and write articles for them.
For example, we can find websites in the digital marketing niche that have a “write for us” page, like this one, and ask if they’d be interested in accepting a guest post from us.
Most blogs will allow you to add two links back to your resource: one in the text of the article, and one in your author bio.
Pro tip: you can get more than just 1-2 backlinks from each guest post. If you have some partner sites, you can reference their articles (when appropriate) in your guest posts, and in return, they will do the same for you.
The downside to guest posting is, of course, the fact that writing unique content can be time-consuming. On the other hand, it is very much worth the time since you’re able to get multiple links per post.
There are two ways to secure guest posting opportunities.

Strategy 1 – Look For “Write For Us” Pages
- Fill out your target niche in the first field.
- In the content URL field, paste a link to an example of your previous content.
- Click on “Use this template”.
In the campaign editor, click “Continue” and set additional SEO metrics if needed.
Review the automation results after it’s done.

Strategy 2 – Content Gap Pitch
In reality, most blogs accept guest posts, even if they don’t have a “write for us” page.
So, you can mix your guest posting with your other link building campaigns by pitching topics at the end of other successful collaborations.
Also, you’re much more likely to land a guest post if you already have established an initial touchpoint of some kind – a successful link exchange, for example.
For this strategy, you’ll need a SEO tool such as Ahrefs or Semrush to find keyword gap opportunities. More specifically, its Content Gap functionality.
After completing a successful collaboration, open Semrush’s Keyword Gap feature.
Paste your website in the first field along with up to 4 competitors in the next fields.
Click “Compare”.
Click over to the “Missing” tab, choose several keywords, and come up with guest post topics around them.
